ABBY & PATRICK
A Kiawah River Course Wedding

Abby and Patrick’s wedding at the River Course on Kiawah Island was a fall Lowcountry dream!  Their November wedding was filled with timeless Southern charm, elegant design, and so much love. Abby & Patrick live in Chicago, but Abby’s family has deep ties to Kiawah, spending half the year on the island — making this special venue the perfect place to say “I do.”

With 150 guests in attendance, Abby & Patrick exchanged vows beneath the centuries-old Live Oak trees on the front lawn of the River Course Clubhouse, with live music by The Charleston Entertainment Trio, creating the perfect atmosphere!   After the ceremony, guests were welcomed to cocktail hour overlooking the 18th green, surrounded by coastal views and the prettiest golden sunlight.

Dinner was served inside the candlelit main ballroom of the River Course, with live jazz music by LePlume, tall floral centerpieces, green velvet details, and creamy white florals from Petaloso that completely transformed the space!!  After the sun set, guests were ushered out to a clear-top tent on the back lawn, where the real party began; complete with draping and lighting by Lowcountry Entertainment and dance-floor-packing beats from DJ Wade.

Abby stunned in a modern gown by Jane Hill, found at Alice & Ivory in Chicago. Her look was completed with Dolce Vita heels, soft, romantic makeup by Brianna Adams, and hair styled by Cheryl Quinn. Her bridesmaids wore Atlantic Blue gowns by Dessy, with getting-ready joggers from Vuori that made for the cutest photos out by the pool at Abby’s parents’ house the morning of the wedding!

The entire day was beautifully planned and designed by the team at Pure Luxe Bride, who brought Abby and Patrick’s vision of a green, white, and gold wedding to life with sophisticated touches at every turn!  From the Nuage and Stradley Davidson linens to the Studio R calligraphy and custom invitation suite, no detail was left undone.

For the reception, guests enjoyed a custom dinner by Kiawah Island Club Catering, a stunning three-tiered cake by Ashley Bakery, and late-night dancing under the stars — complete with cozy green velvet lounge setups from EventWorks and floral covered bars framed by gold lanterns and draped greenery!  It was such a gorgeous day!
