Lowndes Grove Wedding

There’s something so effortlessly magical about a Lowndes Grove wedding, and Maggie & Evan’s day was no exception!!  Nestled along the banks of the Ashley River in Charleston, SC, this vibrant and colorful wedding was the perfect mix of Southern charm, bold color, and genuine connection!!

From the moment we arrived, the energy was contagious!   Maggie got ready in the beautiful upstairs bridal suite, surrounded by her 8 bridesmaids and 2 jr bridesmaids and the prettiest natural light! Her bouquet — bursting with rich, colorful florals, set the tone for the whole day: timeless with a twist!  And Evan? Cool as ever, hanging out under the oaks with his groomsmen before their ceremony.

The ceremony took place in one of our absolutely favorite churches in downtown Charleston – actually, who are we kidding – it’s our favorite!!   St John The Baptist Cathedral is a place where you walk in and are immediately in awe!!  And every detail felt intentional; from the music to the florals to the heartfelt vows that had everyone teary-eyed.

Their cocktail hour on the Lowndes Grove lawn overlooking the river, framed by Spanish moss and sunshine was INCREDIBLE!!  We love how Lowndes Grove creates this seamless blend of elegance and laid-back Lowcountry style. It’s honestly one of the best Charleston wedding venues, and this day reminded us why!!

After the ceremony, we snuck away with Maggie & Evan for some golden hour dock portraits. The view at sunset at Lowndes Grove is unreal, so it’s always a must do!  The way the sun sets right over the dock gets us every time!!

The reception was bursting with color and energy!!  … A perfect reflection of Maggie & Evan!  Long tables were draped with elegant linens, bold florals, and glowing candlelight. Guests danced under the open sky, laughed over champagne toasts, and soaked up every second of the night!
