firework-festivalThis past weekend brought with it one of our favorite festivals of the year, the Busan International Fireworks Festival.  The festival got it’s start with the 2005 APEC Busan Summit, which was attended by everyone’s favorite president, George W. Bush.  Click HERE to see “W” in a traditional Korean Hanbok…A.K.A. a dress.  After the summit, a giant fireworks display was held in celebration and it left a great impression on viewers, thus giving birth to this annual festival.  In 2011 the festival attracted more than 2.5 million people from all over the world!  Jill and I usually get to the beach early to stake out a plot of sand and spend the next 4-5 hours battling old Korean women for real estate until the show starts.  We weren’t feeling that this year so we decided to head up Hwangnyeonsan Mountain to get a birds eye view of the fireworks.  We spent several hours eating kimbap, drinking wine and chatting before the show started and just like the past 3 years, it didn’t dissapoint!  Below are some of my favorite images from the hour long pyrotechnic display.  Enjoy.
